Sreemathi born in Bangalore city, but liberate to rural life over a decade in the field of biodiversity conservation and organic farming movement.  Studied B.Com, but with the special interest in graphics and website designing, started career by designing publication, newsletters, posters, websites, leaflets and so on for organization working for the welfare of rural communities.Sreemathi being the State Coordinator of the Save Our Rice Campaign is trying to revive traditional rice heritage through the on-farm conservation of rice diversity, participatory crop improvement, and the popularization of organic rice.

• Is a ‘Rastrapathi Puraskar’ Guide awadree, received award and certificate from former President Sri. Venkataraman and so involved with social development and environment related activities. 

•  As a freelance writer have written articles on rice and its culture appeared in local newspaper and magazine.  A book on role model farmer ‘Bathada huchhu Boregowdagike achhumechhu’ meaning Conserving Paddy is atmost interest to farmer Boregowda.
